Viscosity of quantum Hall fluids.

چکیده
The viscosity of quantum uids with an energy gap at zero temperature is non-dissipative and is related to the adiabatic curvature on the space of at background metrics (which plays the role of the parameter space). For a

In this paper we study the integer quantum Hall effect (IQHE) on the systems with different types of impurities in delta and gaussian forms. The Landau energy levels in the presence of impurity split in two different levels, the extended and localized levels, emerging then the Hall step. Finally, we add a specified form of a quantum dot potential to a system with impurity, and observed that incr...
متن کاملFree Convection from an Elliptic Tube with its Major Axis Vertical and Placed in a Micropolar Fluid
In this paper free convection from a horizontal isothermal elliptic tube placed in a micropolar fluid with its major axis vertical is investigated. The governing equations are based on the conservation of mass, linear momentum, angular momentum and energy. The full governing equations written in stream function-vorticity formulation are solved numerically using the Spectral method based on Four...
متن کاملProcedure to Evaluate the Shear Rate Profile and the Apparent Viscosity of Non-newtonian Fluids in the Falling Cylinder Viscometer
−− The falling cylinder viscometer (FCV) is a reliable instrument to quantify the viscosity of Newtonian fluids. Nevertheless, when nonNewtonian fluids are tested in this device, difficulties appear to determine the apparent viscosity. Thus, conventional rheometric calculations cannot be applied directly to experimental data provided by the FCV in order to obtain the apparent viscosity function...
متن کاملQuantum Hall Fluids, Laughlin Wave Functions, and Ideals in the Weyl Algebra
It is known that noncommutative fluids used to model the Fractional Quantum Hall effect give Calogero–Moser systems. The group-theoretic description of these as reductions of free motion on type A Lie algebras leads directly to Laughlin wave functions. The Calogero– Moser models also parametrise the right ideals of the Weyl algebra, which can be regarded as labelling sources in the fluid.
متن کاملShort-Lived Lattice Quasiparticles for Strongly Interacting Fluids
It is shown that lattice kinetic theory based on short-lived quasiparticles proves very effective in simulating the complex dynamics of strongly interacting fluids (SIF). In particular, it is pointed out that the shear viscosity of lattice fluids is the sum of two contributions, one due to the usual interactions between particles (collision viscosity) and the other due to the interaction with t...
